How do I create an event proposal?

Helsinki Education Week is being planned as a hybrid event week at the moment. The aim is to organise both virtual and normal events, if the pandemic situation allows that.

During Helsinki Education Week, anyone working in education in Helsinki can propose a virtual event. The virtual implementation enables participation from all over Finland and the world – schools, educational institutions and daycare centres, teachers and learners, caretakers and other stakeholders in education can participate in interesting events.

Do you want to create and submit an event proposal? This article explains the necessary steps.

Things to remember

All event proposals must be created on and submitted through the Helsinki Education Week website.

Event proposals need to be submitted and ready for review by October 5th 2021.

The Helsinki Education Week production team will review all event proposals and select the events that best fit this year's theme Future Designers

All events will be free-of-charge for participants and organisers will not receive any reimbursement.

This year, all events will be organised completely online.

The Helsinki Education Week 2021 program will be published in October.

Creating an event proposal

In order to create an event proposal, you must first register or log on to the Helsinki Education Week website. If you have an @edu.hel.fi address, you can log in by clicking the Google logo in the log in view.

Event proposals can be created by clicking the "Send event proposal" -button on the home page. You can create multiple event proposals.

Using the online form, please fill in all relevant information for your event proposal. Any information can also be edited and supplemented later on under  "My events".

In the online form, you will be asked to select the relevant program track for your event:

  • Hands On - workshops
  • Dialogue - discussion sessions
  • Network - networking events
  • Explore - approaches and working methods

You will also need to choose which platform you want to use for your event (Google Meet, Teams, Skype, Other), as all events will be organised completely online this year. Please notice that Zoom is not allowed on Helsinki Education Division devices.

Submitting an event proposal

Once you have completed and saved all the information for your event in the online form, remember to click “Send proposal”. Your event proposal will then be processed by the production team.

The Helsinki Education Week 2021 program will be published in October. If your event proposal has been selected, the public event pages are created based on the information you have submitted to the system.
