Helsinki Education Week takes place in autumn 2023 –theme is wellbeing that supports learning in Helsinki

Helsinki Education Week will take place from 30 October to 3 November 2023, covering the whole city. After a three-year break, the week brings together all learners and more than 14,000 teachers and education professionals for local events. During the week, schools and other educational institutions and daycare centres will hold a range of events focusing on wellbeing and learning.

The various units of the City of Helsinki Education Division will present their activities in a variety of ways during the theme week. Now in its fifth year, international education experts will also be coming to Helsinki to take part in Helsinki Education Week.

“There is no good and sustainable learning without wellbeing. We invite all units of the City of Helsinki’s Education Division to share their insights,” says Satu Järvenkallas, Head of Education Division of the City of Helsinki.

The week is open to learners, teachers, and all staff in the division. The events are an opportunity to share skills, learn from others and get new ideas.

Join us to arrange events for Helsinki Education Week!

For this year’s Helsinki Education Week, we are interested in events specifically related to wellbeing and socio-emotional skills. Until 15 September 2023, teachers and education professionals can propose a programme for learners, parents and anyone interested in learning.

The theme week is organised in partnership with HundrED, which focuses on discovering learning innovations. The event was last organised as a series of local events in 2019, bringing together more than 12,000 participants for over 200 workshops and discussions of varying size. Some of the events are arranged by international guests, allowing for pedagogical dialogue from further afield as well.

The event website is now open, and event registrations can be submitted until 15 September 2023: https://www.helsinkieducationweek.com/
