Education has been going through changes already before last spring, as Covid-19 hit the world. In spring 2020 education went to online learning - sometimes in an emergency mode.
Many of us have questions, wonderings, dreams and hopes on how education should be, if and how it should be change.
This discussion brings a range of thought leaders around the world on a fireside chat to discuss the future of education - on a more laid-back mode. We are tired of too rigid lectures and speeches but want to engage and give room for creativity and dreaming.

Mr. Ip Kin-yuen, Legislative Counciller, is a member of the Legislative Council of Honkong for Education Constituency and a Vice-President for Hongkong Professional Teachers' Union. He is also a Part-time Lecturer, The University of Hong Kong and Director of The Hong Kong Institute of Family Education among other prominent positions.
Michael Stevenson is Senior Advisor, Education and Skills at the Organization for Economic Development and Co-operation (OECD) in Paris. His responsibilities include innovation, strategy and support for governments. He is leading the development of (1) the long-term roadmap for the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and (2) vision, strategy and policy for education in the age of AI (High Performing Systems for Tomorrow). From 2007-2013 Michael was Vice President, Global Education at Cisco Systems. During this time he founded the Global Education Leaders Program, which he now co-chairs. Michael began his career at the BBC, initially in television current affairs, later as BBC Secretary and Director of Education. He went on to lead strategy, communications and technology at the UK Department for Education in London.
Peter Vesterbacka, is an entrepreneur from the Heart of Eurasia, Helsinki, Finland. Branded communities co-created and initiated by Peter include the Slush, Startup Sauna, Fun Academy and most recently Ambitious Africa. He was the Mighty Eagle at Angry Birds for many years taking that brand to unprecedented heights. Peter is also currently adjunct professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Tongji University, one of the leading universities in China. In 2011 Time Magazine named Peter one of the 100 most influential people on the planet. He is most passionate about transforming the world through Education, Entrepreneurship and Entertainment.
The Fireside Chat is moderated by Ilona Taimela, an educational consultant and a researcher. Ilona is dedicated to promoting a more sustainable, participatory and purpose driven holistic education and learning. She is engaging and inspirational, but can also be provocative in leading a transformational change in education and learning.
