Learn more about the Future Songwriting project:

Future Songwriting is a two-year project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. The goal of the project is make composing and music production a natural part of school music education and to encourage teachers and students to create their own music. The project supports schools and teachers in the use of modern technology and digital learning environments in teaching. The project is based on the INTO School concept developed by Teosto's cooperation partner Ihan Oma Juttu Oy (INTO SCHOOL Ltd). The project brings together universities and researchers in the field of teacher education and music technology, teachers and students, and music authors and their representative copyright organizations from Finland, Germany, France, Hungary, the UK and Spain.

There will be at total 15 schools participating this project from Finland, France and Germany. Workshops for teachers enables teachers to learn how to use digital tools in teaching and composing. Students will use digital tools to compose, write lyrics, arrange, produce and record their own song from the idea to finished output. Professional songwriters and artists will visit the schools to inspire and encourage students to create their own music. Finished songs are presented to the entire school and parents at the closing party in each school.
