Science Center Soppi explores the history, present and future of Finnish education. In Helsinki Education Week we offer free guided tours in Soppi.

Science Center for Education and Learning Soppi illustrates how Finnish society has been shaped by investments in learning and education, and what kind of broader international trends have influenced our thinking.

In addition to history and the present, Soppi looks to the future. We are living in a period of time, where perceptions of civilization and the goals of education are challenged. Wicked global problems require us to set new goals for education instead of the belief in never-ending progress inherited from the Enlightenment. What could they be? And what has digitalization meant for learning? Soppi is a place for learning and thinking together.

We warmly welcome student groups as well as education professionals! Feel free to explore the exhibition at your own pace. Our guides will introduce the topical themes of education and are happy to discuss them with you.
