A MAGICAL WORKSHOP ON CREATIVITY IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Mathematics is the foundation of all science and technology subjects. Success in mathematics can make our students more self-assured, and lead them to excellence in other areas of learning. Therefore our younger generations must be competent in mathematics. Unfortunately, many students and even some teachers have misconceptions about mathematics, thus making mathematics a difficult subject for them.

This Magical Workshop on Creativity in Maths Education aims to help teachers appreciate the true nature of mathematics. Special emphasis will be on developing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Problem-Solving Strategies. It also aims to help them realize that helping students to learn maths can be such fun with some magical touch. This course emphasizes helping students to learn rather than teaching them. In this fun-filled, hands-on, and minds-on workshop participants will discover a series of motivational ideas to instill a love for mathematics in their students.

Learning Objectives

1. At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to begin their lessons with meaningful set induction
2. Facilitate the learning of mathematics creatively using some mathematical magic
3. Use appropriate teaching aids to help students understand the concept

Methodology

This is a fun, hands-on, minds-on course on creativity in Education. 

This event is aimed at a class of students to attend together with their teacher.
